GTE won unanimous approval from the Ventura, Calif., County Board of Supervisors last week to include unincorporated areas of the county in its planned construction of a hybrid fiber/coaxial cable system there. The system would pass 122,000 households in Ventura County by the end of 1998. Ventura County is the second franchise GTE has won in California since its approval to build a system in Thousand Oaks earlier this year.
