Satellite companies argue theirs is `nascent' risky business After years of opposing regulation of their industry, cable companies last week got a chance to back some possible future rules at the FCC. Responding to the commission's effort to establish DBS public interest obligations, cable companies urged the FCC to impose some of the current cable rules on their satellite competitors.
