Broadcasters optimistic about USA Digital Radio/Lucent IBOC project Radio broadcasters applauded the announcement last week by USA Digital Radio (USADR) and Lucent Technologies of their plan jointly to develop in-band on-channel digital audio broadcasting technology for AM and FM stations.
"This is extremely good news for the development of in-band on-channel" (IBOC), says Randy Odeneal, general partner of Sconnix Broadcasting and chairman of the National Association of Broadcasters Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) task force.
