Software giant rebuts DOJ but ducks questions Microsoft Corp. fired back at the Department of Justice last week, arguing that the government is obstructing product design in trying to force it to segregate its Internet Explorer browser from its Windows operating system, "If the government is allowed to engage in product design, there will be a stifling of innovation," William Neukom, Microsoft senior vice president for law and corporate affairs, declared.
