Magic set to tip off show.(Magic Johnson)

Magic Johnson takes to the court once again today (June 8), with the launch of his late-night syndicated talk/variety show from Twentieth Television, The Magic Hour.

Johnson, who will tape the show at the same Paramount studio in Hollywood where his friend Arsenic Hall did his late-night show, last week added a sidekick, comedian Craig Shoemaker. Shoemaker will sit by Johnson's side throughout the hour program and will handle comedy chores for the former NBA star. Shoemaker was voted top comedian at last year's American Comedy Awards and has hosted VH1 's My Generation.
