South American television network Rede Globo de Televisao has purchased $3.8 million worth of Tektronix equipment for its new digital broadcast facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil. TV Globo is the first Latin American broadcaster to purchase the Tektronix Profile PDR300 video server. In addition to two Profiles, TV Globo plans to install Grass Valley production and distribution equipment, including four series 7000 signal management systems; two model 4000 production switchers, and two Krystal 4300 digital effects systems.
Tektronix also provided all of TV Globo's television test and measurement equipment.
