Now that impeachment is finally over, Congress finally can focus its full attention on what is really important: satellite TV reform. House and Senate committees are holding three hearings on the subject next week, and one bill likely will be introduced. Staffers from the House Subcommittee on Courts and Intellectual Property are readying a bill on the copyright issues involved in satellite TV reform, including royalty fees and compulsory licenses, and a hearing is planned for Thursday. Sources say the House bill, which will be sponsored by Subcommittee Chairman Howard Coble (R-N.C.) will look much like the bill introduced last month by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah).
