Two stalwarts form video company for PBS series
For more than 40 years, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee have adapted to the changing entertainment business, starring first in a radio show, then in movies and television and now as owners of a home video company.
Emmalyn II Productions Co. was formed this year at the suggestion of friends who felt that the couple's Public Broadcasting System (PBS) program, With Ossie and Ruby could be released as a home video series. The half-hour PBS programs aired last year and feature works by black authors as well as personal stories from Davis's and Dee's childhoods. The first video from the series, Hands Upon the Heart, was produced by Cornerstone Films and is available through major distributors. Running time is 120...
