Not many consumers will sit home alone this summer once FoxVideo opens the door on its $16 million campaign fo Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (street date July 27, pre-book June 30). The supplier expects to generate comparable business for the $172 million-grossing sequel to the enormous family hit, starring Macaulay Culkin, which has racked up sales of more than 11 million units since its video release in August 1991.

Like the original, Home Alone 2, priced at $24.98, will feature a $5 consumer rebate and a sponsorship by American Airlines. Instead of Pepsi, however, the rebate will be offered by Life Cereal, made by Quaker Oats, which will advertise the title on 15 million cereal boxes, according to FoxVideo president BobLellis.
