As cable gears up to compete with home video via video-on-demand and pay-per-view services, one cable network is taking a more direct approach.
After years of selling special-interest programs, with only sporadic involvement in major releases, the Home Shopping Network is putting video sell-through back on the air.
Starting with FoxVideo's Home Alone 2: Lost in New York next month, Home Shopping Network will begin hawking major sell-through titles on its three satellite-fed services: HSN1, HSN2 and Home Shopping Spree. Expected pricing was not available.
