ABC forms new label: Signet to market old and new movies. (ABC Video Enterprises Inc.; Signet video label)

New York City--ABC Video is branching out into theatrical product under a new label named Signet. The division of Capital Cities/ABC Multimedia Group was launched one year ago market special-interest and TV programming.

Meanwhile ABC Video announced its first original program, a fitness tape with TV star Tracy Scoggins due Jan. 5, and an assorted rental three-pack of documentary series ABC World of Discovery, dealer priced at $15, or $5 per tape.

Signet will offer both first-run rental product and sale-priced catalog titles that previously have been marketed under license by ABC to such now-defunct suppliers as Embassy and Vestron.
