Bond going on moratorium until 1995. (MGM/UA Home Video stops distribution of James Bond videocassettes while searching for business partner for new motion picture series)

Diamonds are forever, but James Bond videocassettes will be on moratorium as of April 20 while MGM/UA Home Video seeks a consumer-goods partner for a fresh rollout of the series. The moratorium does not apply to laserdiscs. Retailers and wholesalers can order all 16 Bond titles at a one-time discount through April 20, both individually and in 24- and 48-piece merchandisers.

Bond titles have a $19.98 suggested retail price. MGM has sold more than 7 million units in the Bond series overall, according to a spokesman, who could not estimate sales of Bond movies when they were distributed by Foxvideo during the '80s.
