Blockbuster cuts orders to trim costs Blockbuster Entertainment, seeking to reduce expenses and increase cash flow, will significantly reduce rental product orders beginning in October, some suppliers learned last week. An executive at one major supplier said his studio had been informed that Blockbuster is cutting its October rental orders by "one-third" on that company's titles.

Other sources said the actual cuts may vary, with direct-to-video and lesser-known theatrical titles eliminated in some cases. The effect on sell-through-priced titles stocked for rental was unclear.
