Rentrak seeks to dismiss or move Update suit. (Rentrak Corp's plan to file antitrust suit against Video Update Inc)

Rentrak Corp. is seeking to have an antitrust suit filed by hostile customer Video Update dismissed or moved to Rentrak's home turf. In a motion tiled last week in U.S. District Court in Delaware, where Update is incorporated, Rentrak said it believes the suit against it has no merit. The lawsuit charges that Rentrak is violating the Sherman Act, a federal law that makes it illegal for anyone to obtain a monopoly on any segment of any industry.

Update charges that Rentrak has developed or is trying to develop a monopoly in the revenue-sharing business by forcing retailers to sign exclusivity clauses (VB, 6/8).
