The future is here for Planet of the Apes fans. The science-fiction franchise will be released on DVD for the first time Aug. 15, when 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment bows the Planet of the Apes. The Evolution limited edition DVD box set. Fox will make available 150,000 copies of the set priced at $99.98.
It includes all five films--Planet of the Apes, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Escape From the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and Battle for the Planet of the Apes--plus a sixth disc featuring the documentary. Behind the Planet of the Apes, hosted by series star Roddy McDowall. After those are sold, a set of the five movies will be available.
