* Sony Computer Entertainment is preparing to put its PlayStation 2 into high gear. The company said it has solved the computer chip problem that forced console shortages and plans to double worldwide production to 20 million units in the fiscal year beginning April 1. In addition, Sony has entered an agreement with arcade operators Namco Ltd.
and Sega Corp. to develop game arcades using PS2 technology.
