According to the Consumer Electronics Association, 84% of teens (12-17 years old) have a videogame console in their home and 58% play videogames at least one hour per week. The results are from a telephone survey with 500 teens conducted in November by CEA, which represents more than 600 U.S. companies involved in the design, development, manufacturing and distribution of audio, video, mobile electronics, communications, information technology, multimedia and accessory products. The Videogames: Teen Buying and Usage study showed that two-thirds of the surveyed teens have been playing videogames for at least five years.
