Preorders of Nintendo's GameCube sold out on ToysRUs.com in four minutes last week, better than the 30 minutes it took the site to sell all its preorders for the Xbox in September, the e-tailer said. However, Play-Station 2 still holds the record--23 seconds. ToysRUs.com, operated by Amazon.com, would not disclose how many units were ordered for each of the consoles, but it's widely believed that more GameCubes were available ahead of time than Xboxes, thereby hinting at more interest in Nintendo's latest offering compared to Microsoft's initial effort.
