* After filing for bankruptcy in December, VM Labs, which owns the enhanced DVD technology Nuon, and its assets are to be auctioned off in a court heating Feb. 28. Just a few studios, including 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and MOM Home Entertainment, released discs with Nuon, which can be viewed only with a Nuon-enhanced DVD player. Samsung and Toshiba put out Nuon DVD players last year. VM Labs CEO Richard Miller said the company, for now, is focused on selling its Nuon-enbanced chips to hardware makers. A Fox spokeswoman said the studio continues to consider the format on a case-by-case basis, while a spokesman at MGM said the studio has no more Nuon DVDs planned.
