* After hyping their online gaming strategies for the better part of the year, Sony Corp. and Nintendo of America made a series of announcements last week at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, Calif., about which companies would be providing the technical backbone for the services. Sony Online Entertainment pacted with Fidelia Inc. to manage how online games will be delivered to an anticipated 10 million users around the world. To make massively multiplayer online games such as Ever Quest, Star Wars Galaxies and PlanetSide more compelling to users, SOE also signed a deal to use nVidia Corp.'s graphics processors.
