WASHINGTON--With presidential politics behind us for a while, and in the wake of the real-world violence of Sept. 11, Washington's attention to the make-believe world of media violence appeared to wander. But it hasn't gone away. This summer, the Federal Trade Commission is scheduled to deliver its third major report on the marketing of violent movies, music and videogames to minors.

And this time, it has retailers in its sites.
