Starting in spring 2003, Sony Corp. will bolster its online game offerings for Play-Station 2 by releasing EverQuest Online Adventures, a version of its best-selling online PC game. The console version will be packaged similarly to the computer version; users will have to buy the software and pay a monthly fee to use the online service.

Specific details, such as price and street date, were not released. The PC version of EverQuest has more than 400,000 subscribers who pay upward of $13 a month to inhabit the virtual world, where players pick a character and interact with others in fantasy surroundings.
