A transition team comprised of executives from USA Home Entertainment will remain on after the unit is dissolved this month as part of the merger with Universal Studios Home Video, according to sources close to the home video units of Universal and USA.
The transition team will manage sports titles handled by USA until contracts with the leagues expire, sources said. It was unclear whether USA president Joe Amodei or other executives would be on that team. USA handles sports titles for the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League. Its contract with the National Football League expired recently.
