Coming next month: The DVD as theme park. Like various entertainment- themed parks, two new DVDs--Columbia TriStar's Memento limited edition and Warner's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone--aim to truly immerse viewers in movies. The discs provide an interactive experience in which viewers must overcome challenges similar to those that face the movies' characters to unlock the discs' special features.

For Memento, which the Columbia PR mavens are positioning as the closest thing yet to a true hybrid DVD movie/game experience, writer/director Christopher Nolan designed a series of mindbenders that requires viewers to put themselves in the memory-challenged place of character Leonard Shelby, played by Guy Pearce.
