With last week's announcements that Sony Corp. and Microsoft Corp. were dropping the prices on their new consoles to $199, some might wonder if there is any news left to be revealed at this week's Electronic Entertainment Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Of course there is. After all, the game isn't over 'til its over.

Taking the forefront at E3 now will be news about the fledgling online gaming infrastructure has to take off and have gaming services to be offered for Sony's PlayStation 2, Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo of America's GameCube. When the three consoles were unveiled with such fanfare at E3 in 2001, executives made it sound as if the wired world of online gaming was just around the corner. This year, they might actually mean it....
