RealNetworks Inc. has launched GamePass, an online subscription game service that will cost users $6.95 a month with an initial three-month membership commitment. In addition to having full access to the 90 games on the site, GamePass subscribers will get one credit each month to download or own one of the games on the RealArcade.

Games normally cost between $9.99 and $19.99 to buy from RealNetworks. Other companies have learned, however, that it's hard to make a buck in the online games space.
