Expecting a warm reception from videogamers for its new console multiplayer connection service Microsoft Games shipped more than 100,000 units of its Xbox Live Starter Kit to retailers for the Nov. 15 launch. The $49.95 kit includes a one-year subscription to the service and the Xbox communicator voice headset.

Director of Xbox content services Cameron Ferroni told VB that he believes dealer orders are right on target with the number of subscribers it expects to sign up by Dec. 31 based on the response Xbox Live has already experienced with beta testers.
