* In an effort to boost sagging sales of its GameCube, Nintendo have cut prices on some of its leading games and is giving away others with the console. Buyers can choose among Metroid Prime, Star Fax Adventures, Maria Party 4 or Resident Evil when they buy a $149 GameCube. Nintendo also will reduce the price of Luigi's Mansion, Super Smash Bras.
Melee and others in the "Player's Choice" program to $29.95 from $49.95. Meanwhile, Metroid led the way at the Interactive Achievement Awards, receiving a record 10 nominations, including game of the year.
