* Disney grabbed the biggest box-office share this summer in a season marked by higher industrywide grosses despite fewer ticket sales. Summer box office, counting from the first week in May through Labor Day, climbed 2% to $3.76 billion, according to Nielsen EDI. However, the gain was due to higher ticket prices, up about 7% year-to-year.

Disney overtook Universal in the home stretch to win the summer crown with a 22% market share and approximately $828 million in seasonal grosses. The surge was led by box-office champ Finding Nemo ($332 million in domestic theatrical revenue) and Pirates of the Caribbean ($274 million).
