The Department of Justice has filed a complaint in federal district court in Los Angeles on behalf of the FTC against the producers and marketers of the popular Girls Gone Wild series of videocassettes and DVDs. The complaint charges Mantra Films, and its owner, Joseph Francis, with deceptive marketing practices for enrolling consumers who responded to TV and Internet ads in a video continuity program without their knowledge.
