Recording Industry Association of America.(Noted)(lawsuits)(Brief Article)

Video Business, February, 2004

... The Recording Industry Association of America filed five more lawsuits last week targeting 531 alleged online music swappers. The suits were filed in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Orlando and Trenton, N.J. As with the 532 people sued in January, the defendants are identified only by their numerical Internet Protocol addresses.

If approved by a judge, the RIAA can then obtain a subpoena forcing Internet Service Providers to disclose the names and identities of the individuals assigned those IP addresses.
