More consumers are saying, "I want my DTV!" Newly released data from the Consumer Electronics Assn. shows month-over-month upticks in factory-to-dealer sales of digital TV sets throughout 2005 so far, with the exception of a blip between March and April. But even in both of those months DTV unit sales increased 46% and 47%, respectively, compared to the same months last year. "This year, it is predicted that consumers will buy more digital sets than analog," CEA chief Gary Shapiro said.
