TiVo Inc. plans to begin allowing its subscribers to transfer recorded TV shows to Apple video iPods and Sony PlayStation Portables. The new feature is part of the company's enhanced TiVoToGo feature, which allows subscribers to transfer programs recorded on their DVR to their PC for later viewing.
TiVo will begin testing the feature in the coming weeks with a select group of TiVo Series 2 subscribers who own a video iPod or PSP. The company plans to make the new service available to its entire TiVo Series 2 subscriber base as early as the first quarter. TiVo launched TiVoToGo last year.
