Starz has beefed up its online movie presence with a new video download service offering unlimited movie downloads for just $9.99 a month to a number of portable devices. Dubbed Vongo, the new service launched last week. It gives subscribers access to more than 1,000 movies and videos along with a streaming Starz TV channel, all of which can be viewed on Windows-based PCs, laptops, select portable video players and/or a TV.
Vongo also offers some PPV titles for download for $3.99 each. Users will be able to download and view selections on up to three devices. The new service uses Windows Media technology including digital rights management from Microsoft, a partner in the service. Sony Connect, another partner, will make Vongo a key part of its Connect Video...
