Liberty Media Corporation has agreed to buy IDT Entertainment, home to prominent indie DVD supplier Anchor Bay Entertainment, in an effort to secure content for its Starz Entertainment Group and other outlets. Liberty will pay $186 million in cash and assume existing IDT debts. Deal is expected to close within the next three months.

Once the pact is finalized, IDT will deliver CG-animated theatrical releases and live-action programming to Starz channels. IDT was involved in last year's animated Valiant. IDT Entertainment is a subsidiary of telecommunications company IDT Corporation. Liberty will emerge as a more complete entertainment player in acquiring content stronghold IDT.
