By Susanne Ault As expected, Image Entertainment won firm control of its board of directors over fierce Lionsgate opposition, but the next steps the two companies will take are less clear. As Lionsgate's battle for the board was convincing, even though ultimately unsuccessful, analysts believe Image must soon improve its business to impress shareholders and stave off further hostile bids.
"Clearly, we have to do something to perk up and strengthen our bottom line results," Image CEO Marty Greenwald said. "It's looking at the product we put out, how we ship the product and what we are paying [to acquire and license] programming."
