Panasonic is making available its first $599 priced Blu-ray player, meeting Sony, which also will bring out a $599 player this summer at the low-end of the stand-alone Blu-ray Disc player market.

Best Buy will be the first retail chain to carry Panasonic's DMP-BD10A, at the end of May or in early June. The manufacturer will later roll out the players to other retailers.
