Lionsgate reached an agreement with American Greetings Properties that will broaden its distribution rights for the Care Bears children's franchise while establishing rights to sell DVDs for the CBS series Sushi Pack . The deal gives Lionsgate a chance to further boost home entertainment sales from children's programming. Also, Lionsgate agreed to pay $255 million for the TV Guide's TV network and Web site from Macrovision in an effort to broaden the studio's distribution reach.
