Chicago - Despite a shakeout in the business-to-business Internet trade, there is still a place for technology in the recycled fiber market. A year ago, there were more than a dozen Internet players serving the paper recycling market through trading sites. That is now down to just a handful.

It's only a matter of time before electronic commerce takes hold, said Jan Marrs, vice president of recycling for ForestExpress, one of the remaining companies.
