Houston - America's largest representative of waste generators and the country's biggest solid waste company are severing ties in a dispute over a contract valued at up to $35 million, depending on who's talking. Waste Management Inc. is canceling its contract with Oakleaf Waste Management LLC as WMI redefines its relationship with waste brokerage firms, which act on behalf of customers that require waste services.
``I saw the agreement as very limiting for free markets,'' said James R. Barnes, Oakleaf's president and CEO.
