Orlando, Fla. - As he manages Walt Disney World's waste reduction projects, Bob Colburn doesn't don a costume to perform. But in a video for the American Hotel and Motel Association, Colburn compares his job to a juggler spinning plates atop handheld sticks. As the juggler adds the 10th whirling plate, he has to constantly make sure the first nine are still balanced.
``As we start new initiatives, we have to keep looking back at our existing programs,'' Colburn said. ``Our biggest challenge today is still the same as when we started in 1994: to get the cast involved so they know about all the environmental things we do, and to let our guests know, too.'' The ``cast,'' as Colburn uses the term, refers to Disney World's staff of employees. ...
