Honda cars emit least pollutants, study says.(Cover Story)

Byline: Jim Johnson Honda Motor Corp. is the least air polluting automobile maker in the United States, while DaimlerChrysler Corp. ranks last among the six largest manufacturers, according to a new study from an environmental group. Ford, meanwhile, jumped one notch from fifth to fourth place - the first time an automaker improved in the biennial ranking of the Union of Concerned Scientists.
The environmental group looked at smog-forming pollution and carbon dioxide emissions to develop the list, which it released Dec. 4.
