Byline: Jim Johnson Automotive parts recycler LKQ Corp. plans to raise $75 million in an initial public offering. The Chicago-based company, which calls itself the largest nationwide provider of recycled parts from original equipment manufacturers, filed preliminary paperwork with the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission to sell an undetermined amount of shares. LKQ has 38 sales and processing facilities and 12 redistribution centers that serve most U.S. markets, the company said. The company buys wrecked vehicles at auctions and then dismantles them to salvage parts.
