Global Warming Senate OKs climate change research Washington - A Senate committee has approved a measure that would set aside $60 million to establish a scientific research program on abrupt climate change. The measure, sponsored by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, has four co-sponsors, including Sen.
Jim Jeffords, I-Vt. In a voice vote on March 9, the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee agreed to send the matter to the full Senate for its consideration.
