Byline: Joe Truini A former American Electric Power Company Inc. environmental official claims the company cooked the books as well as hazardous waste at three Texas power plants. The company exceeded permitted emission and heat input limits at two of the plants and burned hazardous waste as fuel at another, said Bill Wilson, a former air quality engineer at the company's Southwestern Electric Power Company subsidiary.
Columbus, Ohio-based American Electric Power denies most of the claims and responded quickly and properly when there were environmental concerns at the plants, said Michael G.
