Byline: Jim Johnson Part of Waste Management Inc.'s growing involvement with NASCAR is aimed at promoting diversity in the sport. Waste Management is sponsoring driver Bill Lester as he drives in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2005 season in a truck emblazoned with the company's logo and colors for three races.
Just the company's logo will appear on the No. 22 truck's back deck for the other races. Lester, who is African-American, is viewed as an up-and-comer in the sport, said Curt Knapp, a vice president of marketing for Waste Management.
