Byline: Jim Johnson A Michigan-based environmental group that keeps a close eye on the automotive industry claims only one of the nation's top six selling car makers deserves a passing grade for their use of recyclable plastics. But an industry trade group says it deserves an "A'' for its overall recycling efforts, which are improving with each passing year.

Only Toyota Motor Co. was given a "C'' in a plastics use report authored by the Ecology Center of Ann Arbor, Mich., and an organization called Clean Production Action.
