NRC opens its tent to industrial byproducts.(National Recycling Coalition)

Byline: Joe Truini The National Recycling Coalition has expanded its universe to include industrial byproducts. The coalition's board voted unanimously Aug. 27 to support the Industrial Resources Council, a group of associations trying to increase the beneficial reuses of industrial byproducts.
The vote was taken in Minneapolis during the coalition's 24th Annual Congress & Exposition. The NRC is following the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's lead. In November, the EPA adopted industrial byproduct recycling as one of its four national priorities under its Resource Conservation Challenge.
