Paper Domtar to close mills, cut 1,800 jobs Domtar Inc. is closing and selling off mills in moves that will eliminate 1,800 jobs, the Montreal-based forest products company said. A wide range of moves involving paper mills and sawmills include the closure of a site in Cornwall, Ontario, that manufactures paper with recycled content ranging from 15 to 30 percent.
"Mill closures are very difficult decisions to make, since they impact our employees, their families, and the communities where we operate,'' said Raymond Royer, Domtar president and CEO.
