Byline: Joe Truini Dell Inc. is praising its employees and recycling partners for helping the computer manufacturer achieve its environmental goals. The Round Rock, Texas, computer maker exceeded its paper recycling goal in the last 12 months. In October 2004, the company started documenting its paper usage and established source and recycling targets.
Dell has since achieved 90 percent recycling content in its catalog for small and medium businesses, using paper sources certified by the Forest Stewardship Council for most of the catalog. The company also has increased its use of post-consumer recycled content for catalog inserts to nearly 15 percent and uses 30 percent post-consumer recycled office paper throughout the company.
